About This Course

Welcome to the CHF Phishing Awareness and Prevention Course, a comprehensive program designed to equip individuals and organizations with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize, respond to, and prevent phishing attacks. Phishing, a prevalent form of cybercrime, involves fraudulent attempts to obtain sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in electronic communications. This course aims to fortify your defenses against such threats through education and practical training.

Objectives

Identify Different Types of Phishing Attacks: Understand the various forms of phishing, including email phishing, spear phishing, smishing (SMS phishing), and vishing (voice phishing). Recognize Phishing Red Flags: Learn to detect common indicators of phishing attempts, such as suspicious email addresses, misleading URLs, and unusual language or requests. Understand the Consequences of Phishing: Gain insight into the potential impacts of successful phishing attacks on individuals and organizations, including data breaches, financial loss, and reputational damage. Implement Best Practices for Prevention: Discover practical strategies and best practices for safeguarding against phishing attacks, including the use of security software, email filters, and multi-factor authentication. Director of IT

I am the Systems and Network Administrator for Childrens Health Fund. In my current role in our Information Systems and Technology department, I contribute to the success of the organization, supporting its entire mission. Prior to joining The Childrens Health Fund, I worked for Charter Schools where I served as Director of Information Technology throughout the Tri-State area. In addition to my career, I was also honored as Technician of the year for the Central Islip School District. I earned an A.S from LaGuardia Community College and a B.S from Farmingdale State University. Over the years, I have earned multiple certifications and experience to fit my values and growth.
